#OscarReadz 1: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
First pick for #OscarReadz is Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
First off, love the color, reminds me of the sun, which is one my top five fav things ever. Second, can someone make me fufu? There is A LOT of that being eaten in this book. Ghana sounds dope (minus the missionaries…those dudes are scary af). Plantations in the South? Not so much. I’m so glad I never had to work in the coal mines—give those guys a medal, okay? And more money. I’m impressed that the author is only twenty-six. She writes how I eat: LIKE A BOSS.
If you like my pick, lmk. If you want to make me fufu, lmk. If you want to put me in touch with Gyasi, lmk. I got more opinionz. Oh, and be sure to use the #OscarReadz hashtag. Otherwise, I won't read it.
Oh, and Dana will have a more in-depth review in the Miami Herald soon. Guess you could read that, too.
